Narrate questions, answered
Everything you need to know about Narrate — Voice-over your video. Can't find your answer? The team is one email away.
What is Narrate?
Narrate is an app that helps you add professional voiceovers to your videos using synchronized script scrolling. It keeps your script perfectly aligned with your footage so you can deliver smooth, natural narration with fewer retakes.
How does the script scrolling work?
As your video plays, your script scrolls in sync with it, so you always know exactly what to say and when to say it — keeping your timing and pacing natural without constantly checking your notes.
Do I have to record my whole narration in one take?
No. You can record your complete narration in a single pass, or work through it section by section, re-recording individual parts until you're happy with the result.
Can I control the balance between my voice and the original video audio?
Yes. Narrate gives you independent controls for your narration and the original video's sound, so you can mix them to get exactly the balance you want.
Can I import my own scripts?
Yes. You can import scripts directly into the app, including scanned, PDF-style scripts, so you don't have to retype anything before you start recording.
What can I do with my finished narration?
Once you're done, you can quickly export and share your narrated video to social media, presentations, training materials, or personal projects.
Is there a limit to how many scripts or videos I can create?
No. Narrate supports unlimited scripts and unlimited video exports, even for longer narration projects.
What languages does Narrate support?
Narrate currently supports English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Is Narrate a subscription or a one-time purchase?
Narrate is a one-time purchase — you pay once and get full access to all of its features, with no recurring subscription fees.
Which devices does Narrate work on, and does it collect my data?
Narrate runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro (requiring iOS/iPadOS 18.6, macOS 14.6, or visionOS 2.6 or later). The developer collects no data from the app, and it supports Family Sharing for up to six family members.
